Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity Master’s Degree Field School in Kirindy (Madagascar)
The 1st-year students of the Master’s Degree in Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity (BEST-T) from the University of Reunion Island (Terrestrial Ecology Department, Faculty of Human and Environmental Sciences) travelled to Madagascar for a field trip to learn more about tropical forest ecology and biotic interactions. This documentary, produced by the University’s Digital Service Department, presents the biodiversity of Kirindy Mitéa dry forest in western Madagascar, and explains the three workshops in which the students were involved: the first was on the diversity of butterflies and their interactions with orchids, the second focused on lemur behaviour, and the third measured tree spatial distribution. Students' feedback and prospects after the Master’s Degree are presented as a conclusion. This field trip will be on offer as part of the Erasmus Mundus International Tropimundo Joint Master's Degree starting 2020-2021.
